DO WORKOUT CLOTHES MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

By: SARAH FELL
(GAINESVILLE, Ga) When most people think of workout clothes, shorts, old t-shirts and sweatpants come to mind. But it doesn’t always have to be that way. Turns out what you wear my affect how you work out.  Depending on your workout, there are different things to wear. Clothes fitted closer to the body may help you move better and it may offer encouragement to see which parts of your body are being worked.

Consider what type of exercise you will be doing. Low impact exercises, like yoga, are slower moving and you don’t sweat as much, so look for clothes made of a cotton blend that breathe easily. For high impact exercises like running or aerobics, look for clothes that help get rid of moisture, not lock it in. Clothes with bright colors or patterns can also help give you motivation to work out. Feeling good in what you’re wearing may offer the encouragement needed to look good too.
