General Information
Fieldwork is a valuable and vital component of the Occupational Therapy Program here at Brenau. Its purpose is to complement the curriculum by offering opportunities for the application of evidence-based interventions, clinical reasoning skills, and overall professional behaviors. Fieldwork may occur in a variety of settings including medical, community-based, or educational facilities. Through fieldwork, skills are gained that transition the individual from student to practitioner. (It is also important to note that clinical educators receive continuing education credits for supervision of students during their fieldwork).

Current Semester Important Dates: Check back here for each semester’s start & end dates, evaluation due dates, and more.
Level I Fieldwork Objectives (PDF): The Level I OT Fieldwork Objectives identify the early skills that students should achieve for each practice area during each level I rotation.
Level II Fieldwork Objectives (PDF): The Level II OT Fieldwork Objectives outline all areas that students must achieve entry-level competence in by the end of their 12 week fieldwork rotation.
Level II Suggested Progression of Expectations (PDF): This outline can help you as the Fieldwork Educator structure your supervision over the 12-week period. The goal is to steadily increase the student’s treatment responsibilities throughout the rotation.
Weekly Conference Form (PDF): The weekly conference form is a great communication tool that helps students and Fieldwork Educators discuss current performance and future goals in a structured manner to maximize clarity.
AOTA Fieldwork Data Form (PDF): This form is used to facilitate communication between occupational therapy programs, fieldwork sites, students, and fieldwork educators. It allows programs to document sites in order to satisfy accreditation requirements, while providing students with valuable site information regarding expectations and environment of the fieldwork site.

Blank Forms and Evaluation Samples
FW Educator Confirmation Form (PDF): The Fieldwork Educator Confirmation Form is submitted by the Fieldwork Educator through Google Forms prior to the student’s first day. We hope obtaining this form prior to the student’s first day ensures the Fieldwork Educator has all of the information they need ahead of time. The linked PDF is a sample of the form.
The Level I and Level II evaluations are completed electronically through E*Value. These samples allow you to prepare for the necessary objectives and scoring instructions. The same form is used for both midterm and final.

The Student Evaluation of the Fieldwork Experience (SEFWE) is the student’s opportunity to provide feedback on the site, Fieldwork Educator, and their overall Fieldwork experience. This form is completed electronically by the student prior to the end of the rotation and is reviewed with the Fieldwork Educator.
Fieldwork Educator Evaluation of the Fieldwork Experience (PDF): This evaluation is completed electronically by the Fieldwork Educator at the end of the Fieldwork experience to provide feedback on their overall experience. The same form is used for both Level I and Level II.
Brenau Curriculum Resources
Brenau Curriculum Sequences (PDF): Fieldwork Educators can use the curriculum sequence to gain a better understanding of the courses the students have taken and what they are learning during the current Fieldwork experience. Brenau has 3 program tracks – Norcross Day ELOTD, Norcross Weekend (MSOT), and Gainesville Day (MSOT). The sequence will depend on your current student.

EValue How To Help Guides
EValue is a cloud-based system used by Brenau and many other health sciences organizations to manage curriculum planning, biographical data, student medical records, fieldwork sites, and much more. For the Fieldwork Educator, EValue serves as the main tool to evaluate students’ fieldwork performance electronically.
