If you love being outdoors and enjoy working with young children, we have an opportunity for you to combine these interests! Elachee is searching for an enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to join the Elachee Nature Academy team starting in March of 2021 and continuing into the 2021-2022 school year.
In this role, you will be responsible for helping to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate nature-based preschool program in accordance with Elachee Nature Science Center’s mission and the State of Georgia’s Bright from the Start mandated guidelines.
Experience working with children ages 3 to 5 years.
Willingness to encourage young minds in daily outdoor exploration and discovery, while striving to create a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Ability to hike each day up to 1- 2 miles in a variety of outdoor conditions.
Hold or obtain a current CPR/First Aid Certification.
Satisfactory National Background and Fingerprint Check, and Drug Screening.
Applicants subject to Driving Record Check.
Help implement a program that increases students’ awareness and curiosity about nature, their interactions with nature, and ensure their individual holistic development and safety in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Ensure Nature Preschool classroom and equipment are clean, well-maintained and safe at all times.
Supervise children and maintain established Staff/Student ratios (1:6).
Assist in maintaining current student progress portfolios and documentation.
Work Schedule (35 Hours per Week)
School Year: August 2021 through May 2022
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Elachee Nature Academy follows the Hall County Schools’ academic calendar.
