Brenau’s Center for Health and Well-being offers a holistic approach toward health with a focus on physical, mental and emotional well-being. All enrolled students and employees have access to medical care through the center. The Brenau clinic is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday-Friday. Same day treatment may be available, but please call 770-534-6135 to make an appointment. Brenau’s counselors provide free, confidential services to enrolled students, including group and individual sessions.

We are located at 205 Boulevard, Gainesville Campus in the red brick building on the corner of Brenau & Boulevard.
Because college is a time of transition and growth, both new and returning students will face new challenges and experiences. During college, relationships change and develop, stress can become overwhelming, and students may question their identity. This is where Counseling Services can help. Through individual or group sessions, students can learn new coping skills, seek feedback, and develop strategies for life. Some examples of the kinds of issues students may discuss with a counselor include managing relationships, handling family problems, managing stress, balancing work, school and family and much more. The Counseling Center prioritizes holistic wellness as an important aspect of student success and provides a welcoming and supportive environment for students of all identities, beliefs and experiences. The center also provides students with several modalities of therapy, including Art Expression and a Calm Room, that involve an appreciation of music and the arts, with the goal to allow students to seek a holistic environment for well-being.
My mission as the University Counselor at Brenau University is to recognize that personal change is often a difficult process. I strive to provide a supportive, respectful and collaborative therapeutic environment where individuals can fully explore their concerns, challenges, and values. The counseling relationship allows one to seek perspective through a mutual relationship that is accepting, empathetic, and authentic. I am passionate about helping individuals, especially young adults who are collegiate and adventurous in their pursuit for excellence. My hope is that this journey will allow students to form relationships and make connections that are healthy, long lasting, and honor the following: Responsibility, Respect, Compassion, Honesty, Tolerance, Perseverance, Cooperation, and Self-Discipline.
Counseling Services are provided by licensed professionals, is completely confidential, and adheres to all laws and ethics that govern the counseling profession, including HIPAA compliant Telemental Health Services.
